Literatures dealing with radiolarians and radiolarian fossils, which were reported from Japan and by Japanese researchers, are listed here according to the alphabetical order of the author(s). Each of them is systematically arranged as follows: Author(s), Year, Title, Name of publication, volume, number, pages, plates, figures, tables, geologic age of radiolaria (Cm/110: Cambrian, O/120: Ordovician, S/130: Silurian, D/140: Devonian, Cb/150: Carboniferous, Pm/160: Permian, Tr/210: Triassic, J/220: Jurassic, K/230: Cretaceous, Pg/310: Paleogene, N/320: Neogene, Q/330: Quaternary, R/340: Recent), and language of text and abstract (C: Chinese, E: English, Es: Esperanto, F: French, R: Russian, G: German, J: Japanese). The full text of abstract of each literature, which is permitted to extract by publisher, is included as a one field. Japanese geographic names and person's names are usually phonetically transliterated into Roman characters using either the Japanese system or the Hepburn system. In this database, the Hepburn system is used where transliteration is required; the titles of literatures are listed in their original published forms if they are already in Roman characters. The new names of authors who changed their family name are bracketed. This database was started at 1982 by the senior author (MIZUTANI, then Nagoya University) who as a project leader of the Co-operative Research 1982-1983, designed the original style of this database. A total of 192 literatures was included in a LIST OF PAPERS on Radiolarian Fossils and Radiolarian Biostratigraphy by Japanese Paleontologists and Stratigraphers (Mizutani, 1984). The database was maintained mainly by MIZUTANI from 1982 to 1990, and a total of 425 literatures was listed in the second publication (Mizutani, 1991). The junior authors (YAO and KUWAHARA) have continued to prepare the database since 1990. They added a new field "geologic age" to the ordinary data. Moreover he full text of abstract was added as a new field. The list contained 669 literatures in 1994 (Yao, Mizutani and Kuwahara, 1994) when the INTERRAD VII was held in Osaka. Yao et al. (1997) listed 794 literatures, and Kuwahara and Yao (1998) added 232 literatures. Kuwahara, Yao and Mizutani (2001) recently listed 1321 literatures.
